Birth of the Beagle

And on a rainy, November day, the Beagle was born...

OK, not really. But it sounds good.

I'm really excited to say that www.flyingbeaglefibers.com is live! I have been waiting to write those words for many months now. This company has been my dream for several years now. I remember standing in the kitchen of a friend of mine who is a business owner, telling her about the ember of an idea that was in my heart. "I even have a name!" I exclaimed, then, looking around as if I didn't want anyone else to hear, "it's going to be called Flying Beagle Fibers!" in almost a whisper. This was in the summer of 2015. I had so much on my plate, too much to open a business! I had my job, my twin infants, and a home to run. And yet, the Flying Beagle stayed in my heart. The desire to create beautiful yarns and share them with the world never went away. In fact, the dream only got stronger and stronger until one day, I knew I had to at least try. So, with the help of my handsome husband, we built a small fiber studio in the barn. The first few batches were successful, so we put a little more money into the whole idea, and then a little more. Each month brought new base yarns, new dye colors to try, and new ideas. Our growth was slow, but it was steady. I built a Facebook page and started stocking yarn at a local boutique that I teach at. I started putting some of my products on Etsy. Finally, I have this - this website and this blog. I can't wait to share my fiber adventures with you. This is going to be the home for my late night dyeing adventures, fiber farm field trips with the family, and my ideas and hopes for what this company can be. Thanks for coming along.
